About Dr. Simai

Dr. David Elazar Simai was born in Tehran Iran in 1976.  With the onset of the Iranian Revolution, his family emigrated to Jerusalem, Israel in 1979.  He attended Dugma Uziel Elementary School, walking in the famous streets of Nachlaot and developed a special bond with the under-served community.  His father, Dr. Elias Simai, a well known OB/GYN, helped build the beautiful state of the art birthing center Misgav Ladach Hospital in Jerusalem.

Dr. David Simai emigrated to New York in 1989 at the age of 13 years old and was determined to follow in the family tradition as a physician.   

Dr. Simai is married and enjoys playing Tennis, Basketball, Hiking, and writing captivating stories for local newspapers.  Dr. Simai acts as a Chazzan and Baal Koreh at Congregation Aish Kodesh in Woodmere.

High School - Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim - Queens  Class of 1993.  High School Salutatorian Award.

B.A. - Yeshiva University, Class of 1996.  Awarded the prestigious Magna Cum Laude distinction.

Medical School - State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, Class of 2000

General Pediatric Residency - Long Island Jewish Medical Center, 2000 - 2003

Work Experience:

Attending Physician at Ezras Choilim Health Center, Monroe, New York 2003 - 2009.

Here, Dr. Simai distinguished himself as a capable and caring physician in an under-served community.  He fell in love with the community and the community fell in love with him, forever.

  • Sagee Kahalon, RPA-C

    PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

    Sagee is an outstanding provider with a passion to work with children. His determination to become a health care provider is truly inspirational. At the age of 20, he decided to pursue a career in medicine. He graduated from Touro College's P.A. School, School of Mental Health Sciences. His classmates comment that he possesses the perfect blend of a sensitive heart and brilliant mind. He is also an ordained Rabbi.

    Sagee is a true asset to our practice and whoever encounters him has commented about his great character. Recently, Sagee has joined our practice full-time, having shadowed Dr. Simai for over a year, and he is accepting new patients of his own.

  • Batsheva Kramer, RPA-C

    PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

    Batsheva Kramer is our dedicated Physician Assistant. Batsheva is known for her gentle and supportive manners with teenage girls. Upon request, she will gladly perform physical exams for your teenage girls. Please call our office for availability.

  • Sheryl Weisberger

    OFFICE MANAGER

    Sheryl serves as our Office Manager/medical assistant with 30 years of experience. She comes to us from a busy pediatric office in Los Angeles California, where she acted as a highly acclaimed office manager. She moved to the Five Towns in 2012 with her family. Sheryl has trained generations of babies to sleep through the night and is our office lice expert; performing lice checks whenever needed. Sheryl's calm and reassuring personality is priceless. She truly goes the extra mile to ensure that your visit is a smooth one.

  • Yardena Chodoff

    OFFICE MANAGER

    ​Yardena moved from Israel in 2013. She worked in the diamond district and she came to our office in January 2018. She handles the front desk part-time and distributes rubber duckies with a smile. We are so happy to have her as an addition to our dedicated staff.

  • Naomi Engel

    MEDICAL ASSISTANT

    Naomi works the back and front office part time. We love her because she has very flexible hours. Naomi takes time from her busy home life because she enjoys helping others.

  • Aziza Sartar

    MEDICAL ASSISTANT

    Aziza works nights & weekends as a Medical Assistant. Aziza is very soft spoken, gentle and brings a calm vibe to our busy office. She is a great addition to our office.
