Office Policies

Missed Appointments

Our office policy is that missed appointments for physical exams and sick visits without prior notification of at least 24 hours will be charged $50. Our computer program tracks and records the number of "no shows" that your child has.  If your track record is affecting the efficiency of our practice or if you refuse to pay the fee, we may choose to dismiss you from the practice. We try and send a text message a day before your appointment, but IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to show up at the appointment you scheduled regardless of whether you received a reminder from our office.

Billing Secondary Insurance

It is not worth while for our office to hire additional staff who would be dedicated to bill your secondary insurance.  If you would like to use a practice that would bill your secondary insurance, you are welcome to find one.

Our policy is to bill your credit card when we receive a balance due on the Explanation of Benefits from your insurance.

We will email you a receipt. Your insurance sends you statements after each visits. Please familiarize yourself with them and review them. Ideally, you should call and offer to pay that portion as soon as you receive the statement. We try and find any refunds due to you, if your insurance statement indicates that the visit was fully covered after you paid.  Refusal to pay copays or deductibles promptly and smoothly will result in your dismissal from our practice.

***If you are experiencing financial hardship, please notify our office receptionist or office manager prior to your visit.  We will try our best to work with you. Your child's care is our biggest concern, so please let us know if you need any financial help.

One Time Visits

Our office is not an urgent care or emergency room.  We try to minimize wait times in the office. If you are looking for a one time visit we suggest that you use an urgent care. We do not see visiting guests as a general rule.  If you are seeking a second opinion for an illness, we suggest that you make an appointment with a specialist that deals with the specific illness.

Non Payment of Copays or Deductibles

Unfortunately, we can not wave copays or deductibles. It is the parents responsibility to be familiar with their insurance policy. If you are not sure or would like to learn about the limits of your insurance, please contact your insurance broker or call your insurance company. They will explain to you that copays and deductibles are the portion that the insurance instructs YOU to pay the physician for their services.

Decorum

We try our best to be courteous and pleasant with every patient that comes through our doors.  However, if a parent acts in a very demanding way, asking for services we do not provide, refusing to follow our instructions, allowing their children to destroy, break or harm our office equipment and furniture - will might decide to dismiss the family from our office.
